About the house

Bedrooms (4 total)

  • Quilts and pillows are available on all the beds plus there are blankets and pillows as spares.
  • No linen is supplied, however, there is a Linen hire service available if you do not wish to bring your own supply. The Island Manager operates this service but please make arrangements PRIOR to your arrival by phoning (07) 4127 9188.
Bedroom layout
  • Bedroom No. 1 – Queen Bed
  • Bedrooms No. 2/3/4 – All these bedrooms contain bunk beds which consist of: double bed with 2 single beds, one above (bed rails), the double bed and the other is a trundle bed – each room sleeps 4 people.

​Ask the island manager if you wish to use a port-a-cot. Please make these arrangements with the island manager PRIOR to your arrival by phoning (07) 4127 9188.

Bathrooms (2 total)

One upstairs and one downstairs, showers in both, plus septic toilets; small bath in upstairs bathroom.

​Kitchen

Fully equipped for 14 people; upright, 4 burner gas stove; large electric fridge/freezer.

Please note: there is no council garbage collection on the Island. All rubbish needs to be removed/ taken to the Fraser Island rubbish dump before leaving the house (charges may apply if rubbish is left).

Power/ Water

Solar power with a backup generator – power usage cannot accommodate high energy user items like hair dryers and car fridges otherwise the power will trip out – power outlets are available in all areas of the house to accommodate recharging of mobile devices, medical aids and smaller items.

Gas Hot Water System – water slowly warms up when hot water tap is turned on first. Good drinking water is pumped up into holding tanks by Manager. We ask that guests strive to conserve water to prevent the tank from running dry.

Community Features

  • ​It is an approximately five minute walk to Fraser Island's Eastern Beach, Eurong township shops (bakery, hotels, restaurant and general shop which also sells fuel). No automotive gas is sold on the Island. 
  • The township is fenced for the security of its visitors from dingos. Remember to be dingo safe at all times.​ 
  • Please note, there are no street lights in second valley township so take a torch when venturing out.

​Lounge/Dining Room

Lounge chairs, a 6-seater dining table setting – There is a TV Monitor for DVD viewing with a large DVD selection for free use, books / magazines, no TV reception is available.

Deck - Veranda 

  • Undercover veranda's with a large outdoor 8 seater table setting.
  • Gas BBQ (gas supplied)
  • Automatic washing machine. The clothes line is upstairs on the sun deck with an extra line undercover on the veranda for inclement weather.
  • The sun deck also accommodates an extra outdoor table setting.
  • Board Games are available for use, located in the veranda cupboard.

Technology 

Signal for mobile phone / mobile internet is only available with Telstra network at this time.

Guests must abide by house rules and regulations. Charges will apply if house rules are violated and/ or damages have been made to the house.

What to bring!

Please read what is supplied and what you should consider bringing on your holiday!


  • Food items can be purchased from the shops at Eurong. These include a small corner store shop (selling basic items - including tourist items), a bakery (only sells pizzas in peak season) and restaurant. 
  • Bring food specific to dietary needs, as some food products are difficult to buy on Fraser Island and may be expensive 
  • Fuel can be purchased at the Eurong shop but is usually more expensive than the mainland - so we reccommend leaving with a full tank! No automobile gas is sold on the Island.
  • Bring your own Linen * Bed sheets, pillow cases, towels, bath mats, tea towels and extra blankets in the cooler months. (Quilts and pillows are provided, with extra blankets and pillows for spare). Linen hire is available from the Island Manager (Limited supply) if you are not bringing your own linen. Please contact the Island Manager PRIOR to arrival if you would like linen. 
  • Toilet rolls – each bathroom is provided with one roll. Please bring extra if you think you will need them.
  • Matches (stove igniter is available)
  • Dish washing liquid
  • Garbage bags
  • Laundry soap
  • Personal items (swim wear, clothes, accessories, medication etc.)
  • Sun screen and insect spray 
  • ​Torch (please don't use candles because of the fire risk). No camp fires are allowed on the Island unless under the supervision by the Dept. Environment & Heritage.
